Ellen Contardi is a passionate child advocate. She has spent time as an Educational Assistant with the York Region District School Board where she helped children with a range of abilities reach their full potential. Born to Italian immigrants in Toronto, she was raised in Etobicoke with her sister. Along with her husband and their two sons, Ellen is now a proud Vaughan citizen and actively engaged in the community. Inspired by the challenging plight that individuals affected by autism face every day, Ellen is proud to serve as President of Waves of Changes for Autism in an effort to provide assistance to Vaughan families who are in need.
Loredana was born in North York to immigrant parents who early on instilled the value of “being good and doing good”! Loredana attended Madonna High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Toronto in 1990. Between 1992 and 2006, Loredana and her family owned a family restaurant which enabled her to have the flexibility of raising her boys and volunteer in numerous school initiated activities and events and organize school and sports fundraising committees. Loredana currently works full time in an administrative capacity and though her children are adults, she continues to want to help children. The rise of autism is staggering and now more than ever her belief in “doing good” inspires her to want to be a strong community member dedicated and passionate about bringing awareness and raising funds for this charity.
